| Abstract: | 1948 wurde die Universität des Saarlandes mit ihren zwei Standorten in Saarbrücken und Homburg gegründet – als zweisprachige Hochschule unter der Patenschaft Frankreichs. Vorangegangen war 1947 die Eröffnung des "Centre Universitaire d'Études Supérieures de Hombourg" unter dem Patronat der Universität Nancy. Die starke internationale Ausrichtung ist der UdS geblieben. Sie wurde in einem Festakt am 10. Mai 2023 durch einen Festvortrag von Frau Prof. Patricia Oster-Stierle zur Mittlerfunktion der UdS zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich gewürdigt. Der Festvortrag wurde durch Grußworte von Vertretern aus Politik und Wissenschaft eingerahmt. |
