Abstract: Saarland University (UdS) is committed to promoting open science practices through its Open Science Policy in order to ensure transparency, traceability, and reproducibility of scientific research. The policy covers the areas of Open Access, Open Data, Open Methodology, Open Source, and Open Educational Resources (OER). It is aligned with national and international guidelines and provides recommendations for researchers, teachers, and students at UdS. UdS is committed to providing infrastructure, guidance, and financial resources to support Open Science. An Open Science Board will be established to advise researchers and educators on open science matters. The policy specifically calls for free access to publications and research data, the use of open licenses, compliance with FAIR principles, and the integration of open science into teaching and research processes. The policy will be regularly evaluated and updated as necessary to meet the evolving requirements of scientific practice. It entered into force with the resolution of the University Senate on May 29, 2024.
