Abstract: This presentation examines the current state and developments of Open Access repositories and interoperable usage statistics in Germany and Europe. It focuses on the role of standards, such as COUNTER, in enabling the exchange and processing of usage data across repositories. The discussion highlights the aims, technical infrastructure, and outcomes of the Open Access Statistics (OAS) project, emphasizing its contributions to repository interoperability. Insights into international collaborations, technical challenges, and future perspectives are also provided to underline the importance of standardized usage metrics in enhancing repository visibility and usability.
