It examines the economic and sociological dimensions of OA, contrasting toll access and open models of scientific publishing. Highlighting success stories and barriers, the session discusses the roles of stakeholders, including authors, publishers, and libraries. The presentation also investigates how insights from Open Knowledge practices can inform and improve Open Access strategies, with an emphasis on fostering transparency, efficiency, and innovation in scholarly communication.
