Abstract: | In this paper we present a scalable multi-view video streaming system with client-side view interpolation. Most parts of the system have been shown to be able to perform in real-time, but never as a complete system. Even though our algorithms are not yet highly optimized, we show that running a complete multi-view streaming system video on consumer hardware is possible today. Since multi-view coding and streaming has not reached the consumer market yet due to its high requirements for computational power and Internet bandwidth, the proof that those problems can be solved without specialized hardware can lead to new and more immersive video experiences without the need for 3D glasses or VR goggles. |
