Abstract: The evaluation of digital technologies concerning their benefit for teaching and learning is essential to enable a fruitful usage in the classroom. The present paper discusses the pedagogical usability of different visualization technologies of augmented reality (AR) in primary science education. Subse quently, the design for a qualitative study concerning the assessment of primary school teacher’s opinions concerning the pedagogical usability of AR is derived. The study aims to obtain findings concerning differences in pedagogical usability between two AR-visualization technologies is de rived using the example of an educational AR application for primary science-studies.
