Abstract: Tap water provided through the municipal infrastructure in the Gaza strip is scarce and has a poor quality. Most residents do not have a permanent water supply and almost receive water for only 6-8 hours per day. The total dissolved solid (TDS) of the water stays in the range of few thousands most of the time while being in the range of few hundreds during random few hours. The aim of this work is to build a viable device capable of hunting and isolating good quality water for gardening and faucets use while leaving normal quality water for general purposes such as washing and toilet flushing. The device will be build using PIC18F4550 microcontroller and is expected to provide a limited budget solution to automate the process of salinity test and to promote efficient utilization of scarce water resources.
