Abstract: | The industry is currently going worldwide through a major change. To overcome the steadily growing cost pressure and increasing global competition, the aim is to optimize all stages of the value chain. Therefore, modern information and communication tech-nologies are being used for this purpose. As in the automotive industry vehicles become more and more intelligent, the task is to connect the product more closely with production. External commissioning test de-vices are currently connected to the vehicular on-board diagnostics interface via a ca-ble in order to configure, adjust and test control unites in the vehicle. However, the usage of those commissioning test devices is currently limited and labour-intensive. The present dissertation makes a scientific contribution to a novel approach that ena-bles wireless communication with the vehicle, using innovative networking technolo-gies in connection with optimized IT approaches. First, a suitable networking technol-ogy is selected and analyzed. With help of this contribution, several approaches for an innovative commissioning system are then developed and transferred to the process landscape of automotive assembly. Thus, it can be shown that the wireless connection of the vehicle with the production infrastructure is an important component for the effi-cient optimization of value creation in production. |
