Straßen sind keine Splines

Abstract

Kurvendiskussionen sind ein klassischer Bestandteil des alltäglichen Mathematikunterrichts. Viele der alten Aufgaben sind aber spätestens durch den Einzug von Funktionenplottern und Computeralgebrasystemen fragwürdig geworden und werden langsam von neuen Aufgaben abgelöst. So hat sich inzwischen die Aufgabe der "Trassierung von Straßen" etabliert. In der vorliegenden Arbeit zeichnen wir den Einzug dieser Aufgabe in den Mathematikunterricht nach und diskutieren ihren Realitätsbezug.

Curve sketching is a classic element of the everyday math lessons. Many of the traditional tasks, however, have become questionable due to the introduction of function plotters and computer algebra systems, and are gradually replaced by new tasks. Thus, the task of "route planning'; has been established by now. In this article we trace the introduction of this task in the math lessons and discuss their relationship to reality.
