Abstract

Obwohl es bereits im Jahr 1972 erschienen ist, kann das Buch von Werner Kunz und Horst Rittel nach wie vor als grundlegende Einführung in den Gegestandsbereich der Informationswissenschaft(en) betrachtet werden. Behandelt werden Fragen der Abgrenzung zu anderen Disziplinen, etwa zur Informatik und zur Kommunikationswissenschaft; es werden Verbindungen zu Nachbargebieten wie der Linguistik, der Publizistik oder der Informationstheorie hergestellt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen ein Modell des Wissens und die Gestaltung von Informationssystemen. Behandelt werden ferner Probleme der Informationswissenschaften, mögliche Berufsbilder und Ausbildungsfragen.

Da das Buch lange vergriffen ist, hat der Verlag R. Oldenburg München die Erlaubnis der Digitalisierung und Präsentation über ein Online-Medium gegeben.

Even if the book of Werner Kunz and Horst Rittel appeared in 1972, it still can be seen as a basic introduction to the topics of information science. This includes connections with other disciplines like computer science and communication science, also interconnections with linguistics, jouralism and information theory. Main topics are a model of knowledge and the approach to information systems. Also problems of information science, information professions and questions of education are dealt with.

For several years the book has been out of print. By courtesy, the R. Oldenbourg publishing house gave permission to digititize the book and to provide online access.
