There are many applications of sol-gel films in physical-chemistry such as photoelectrical effect, electrochromism, catalysis support, substrate protection against corrosion and so on. In this preliminary study, it is showed that sol-gel films of colloidal TiO2 e Nb2O5 present photoelectrical effect when illuminated in the UV region (¦Ë ¡Ü 400nm). Electro and photoelectrochemical properties are presented as well as the action spectra. Up to now, the electrical response of TiO2 films is about 20 times higher than Nb2O5 film.
