The subject of this thesis is the efficient finite-element simulation of parametric eddy current problems. To this aim, projection-based model-order reduction methods are employed. The AV-A formulation is chosen as analysis tool. A combination with homogenization techniques allows for the modeling of litz wire by means of equivalent materials. These are calculated on a microscopic level and are decoupled from the macroscopic problem. Synthesis tasks are tackled by parametric methods. If the geometrical parameters can be treated with topology-preserving mesh morphing algorithms, it is suggested to employ matrix interpolation to reconstruct an affine parametrization, and to use a parameter-dependent projection basis. To deal with rigid body movements, a reduced-order model of a coupled finite-element boundary-element formulation is presented. The thesis is completed by two approaches to nonlinear order reduction that are capable of modeling saturation effects in magnetic materials. The first approach draws from kernel methods which stem from the area of statistical learning. In contrast, the second approach uses algebraic transformations to rewrite the model in a form suitable for reduction techniques for affine systems. |
