This presentation discusses the role and implementation of statistics for repositories, focusing on their use in assessing document relevance, repository visibility, and efficiency. It outlines the benefits of standardized metrics and the integration of tools like COUNTER and AWStats for analyzing usage patterns. The presentation highlights the outcomes of surveys among repository users and administrators, emphasizing the need for reliable data to support repository optimization and enhance the impact of scientific outputs. Future directions for the Open Access Statistics project, including international collaborations and advanced metrics development, are also presented.
