Raoul Hausmann ou la subversion des identités nationales : Bilinguisme d’écriture, auto-traduction et poétique plurilingue

Abstract

Cet article analyse la production littéraire franco-allemande de Raoul Hausmann, notamment après l’exil de 1933. Ayant fui l’Allemagne nazie, l’ancien dadaïste berlinois trouve refuge en France où il restera jusqu’à sa mort en 1971. Faisant, à partir de 1945, du français sa seconde langue d’écriture, il adopte une stratégie de bilinguisme alterné qui vise à le faire reconnaître parallèlement comme écrivain allemand et comme écrivain français. Il s’agit ici d’une posture auctoriale scindée, conforme à la logique des littératures nationales, alors qu’à la même époque Hausmann élabore dans des livres majeurs comme Hyle II ou PIN une poétique plurilingue farouchement opposée à l’idéologie des identités nationales et à leur supposée homogénéité culturelle. À travers l’analyse de Hyle, Ein Traumsein in Spanien, auquel Hausmann travaille de 1933 à 1958, on éclairera la tension qui existe entre ces deux pratiques du plurilinguisme après 1945.

Der Artikel untersucht die deutsch-französische literarische Produktion von Raoul Hausmann, insbesondere während seiner Exilzeit ab 1933. Nach der Flucht aus Nazi-Deutschland fand der ehemalige Berliner Dadaist Zuflucht in Frankreich, wo er bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 1971 leben sollte. Ab 1945 machte er das Französische zu seiner zweiten Literatursprache und verfolgte eine Strategie des textübergreifenden zweisprachigen Schreibens mit dem Ziel, parallel als deutscher und französischer Schriftsteller anerkannt zu werden. Es handelt sich um eine gespaltene auktoriale Haltung, die der Logik der Nationalliteraturen folgt, während Hausmann zur gleichen Zeit in Hauptwerken wie Hyle II oder PIN eine mehrsprachige Poetik entwickelt, die sich vehement gegen die Ideologie der nationalen Identitäten und ihre vermeintliche kulturelle Homogenität wendet. Anhand der Analyse von Hyle, Ein Traumsein in Spanien, an dem Hausmann von 1933 bis 1958 arbeitet, soll die Spannung zwischen diesen beiden Praktiken der Mehrsprachigkeit nach 1945 beleuchtet werden.

This article examines the German-French literary production of Raoul Hausmann, in particular after his exile of 1933. Having fled Nazi Germany, the former Berlin Dadaist found refuge in France where he lived until his death in 1971. Making French his second writing language, the former Berlin Dadaist adopted from 1945 onwards a strategy of bilingual writing keeping his two languages separate from book to book, in an attempt to gain recognition as a German writer and a French writer in parallel. While this divided authorship follows the logic of national literatures, at the same time Hausmann developed a plurilingual poetics in major works such as Hyle II or PIN, which vehemently opposed the ideology of national identities and their supposed cultural homogeneity. The analysis of Hyle, Ein Traumsein in Spanien, which Hausmann worked on from 1933 to 1958, illuminates the tension between these two practices of plurilingualism after 1945.
