Medizinische Betreuungsleistung an den Olympiastützpunkten aus Athletenperspektive

Abstract

Die medizinische Betreuung an Olympiastützpunkten ist im Spannungsfeld zwischen Leistungssteigerung und medizinischer Verpflichtung zur Gesunderhaltung des Sportlers angesiedelt. Untersucht wurde die medizinische und physiotherapeutische Betreuungsleistung und deren Beurteilung durch Bundeskaderathleten. 1999 wurden 1 999 und im Jahr 2002 wurden 2 008 A-, B-, C- und D/C-Kader befragt. In der Nutzung überwiegen die Servicebereiche Physiotherapie, Laufbahnberatung/ Umfeldmanagement und allgemeinmedizinische Betreuung. Der Physiotherapie und der allgemeinmedizinischen Betreuung wird ein höherer Stellenwert zugeschrieben als der orthopädischen und internistischen Betreuung. Insgesamt wurde die Qualität der medizinischen und physiotherapeutischen Betreuung mit gut bewertet, wobei AKader höhere Qualitätseinschätzungen abgaben. Mit der Häufigkeit, mit der die Bundeskader die ärztliche Betreuung am OSP nutzen können, waren die Befragten insgesamt zufrieden. Ein Zusammenhang zwischen der subjektiven Einschätzung der eigenen sportlichen Leistung und der Qualitätseinschätzung der medizinischen und physiotherapeutischen Betreuungsleistung konnte nicht festgestellt werden [R = 0,08; n. s.]. Aus Athletenperspektive wird die sportmedizinische Betreuung an den OSP sowohl als wichtiger Faktor wirksamer Betreuung als auch als notwendiger Versorgungsbereich zur Gesunderhaltung betrachtet.

The medical services at Olympic Training Centres aim on the one hand at increasing the performance of the athletes and on the other hand, they have to ensure the athletes' health. The study investigates the medical services and their evaluation by athletes. A standardized combined longitudinal and cross sectional study was used to obtain data concerning the availability, the usage, and the frequency of usage of the services as well as a subjective assessment of quality and quantity of medical services and of physiotherapy. 1999 A, B-, C-, and D/C-squad athletes were questioned in 1999, and 2008 of the above groups were questioned in 2002. Concerning the frequency of usage the top-ranked services were physiotherapy, career counselling and general medical care. In general, physiotherapy and general medical care had a higher status than orthopaedic and internal medical care. On the whole, the quality of the medical and physiotherapeutic care was considered good. Especially the A-squad athletes gave higher ratings. According to the results, no relation between the subjective assessment of the individual athletic performance and the quality assessment of medical care [R = 0,08; n. s.] could be found. Sports medicine at Olympic Training Centres is considered to be a crucial factor of effective care and as essential for the protection of the athletes' health and their well-being too.
