On the global solutions of the parabolic obstacle problem

Abstract

In this note we consider a parabolic obstacle problem with zero constraint. The exact representation of the global solutions (i.e., solutions in the entire half-space \{(x,t)\in\mathbb{R}^{n+1}:x_{1}>0\} is established. Based on this representation we characterize the behaviour of the free boundary near contact points.
