Abstract: Das Thema "Fundraising im Internet" wird in der vorliegenden Dissertation unter drei Gesichtspunkten betrachtet: 1. Potentiale des Internets für das Fundraising, 2. Inhalte auf den Websites von Nonprofit-Organisationen sowie 3. Wünsche der Internet-Spender. Zunächst werden auf einer theoretischen Ebene die Potentiale dargelegt, die das Internet für das Fundraising bietet. Neben einer Einführung in die Themen Information, Internet, Nonprofit-Organisationen und Fundraising, werden Ziele und Zielgruppen eines Internet-Fundraisings identifiziert sowie die Möglichkeiten der Website-Promotion diskutiert. Die Frage nach dem Potential des Internets für das Fundraising wird unter den Aspekten Beschaffungs-, Transaktions- und Interaktionsorientierung erörtert. Die Arbeit umfasst zwei Untersuchungen. Anhand einer Inhaltsanalyse wird untersucht, welche Inhalte die 20 größten (bezogen auf das Jahr 2003, gemessen an den Spendeneinnahmen im Vorjahr) deutschen Nonprofit-Organisationen auf ihren Websites bieten. Des Weiteren zeigt eine nicht-repräsentative schriftliche Befragung, welche Inhalte und Funktionen Internet-Spender auf den Websites von Nonprofit-Organisationen wünschen. Die Ergebnisse der Befragung zeigen z.B., wie häufig Spender die Website ihrer Organisation besuchen, aus welchen Anlässen Spender im Internet spenden, welches Zahlungsverfahren und Förderformen sie bevorzugen, welche Hindernisse einer Spende im Wege stehen, wie viele bereit sind, einen Unterstützungsvorschlag per E-Mail zu akzeptieren, wie häufig Spender einen Newsletter erhalten möchten oder wie schnell die Spender eine Antwort auf eine E-Mail erwarten.
The topic "Fundraising on the Internet" is regarded in this thesis under three criteria: 1. fundraising potentials of the Internet, 2. contents on the websites of nonprofit organizations and 3. wishes of the Internet donors. First on a theoretical level the potentials are stated, which the Internet offers for fundraising. Apart from an introduction to the topics information, Internet, nonprofit organizations and fundraising, goals and target groups of an Internet-based fundraising are identified and the possibilities of website promotion are discussed. The potential of the Internet for fundraising purposes is discussed under the aspects of procurement orientation, transaction orientation and interaction orientation. The work covers two investigations. On the basis of a content analysis is examined which contents the 20 largest (related to the year 2003, based on the donation incomes in the previous year) German nonprofit organizations offer on their web sites. Moreover it is shown with a non-representative written survey, which contents and functions Internet donors wish to find on the websites of nonprofit organizations. The results of the survey show e.g., how frequently donors visit the website of their organization, for which reasons donors donate in the Internet, which payment procedures and promotion forms they prefer, which obstacles hinder donors from donating in the Internet, how many donors are ready to accept a donation suggestion by e-mail, how frequently donors would like to receive newsletters and how quickly the donors expect to receive an answer to an e-mail.
